C-SR- 0 Role of the Superintendent

The Superintendent, as Chief Executive Office, is accountable to the Council acting as a body corporate.  The Superintendent is the Council’s official link to the operations of the District.

C-SR-1 Unity of Control

Only decisions of the Council Members as a body corporate are binding on the Superintendent.

C-SR-2 Delegation to the Superintendent

All Council authority delegated to staff is delegated through the Superintendent. All authority and accountability of staff is considered, therefore, to be the authority and accountability of the Superintendent.

C-SR-4 Issues of Concern

The Superintendent shall not fail to provide a process which ensures that issues of concern are heard and handled in a timely, sensitive and appropriate manner.

The Superintendent shall not knowingly cause or allow any practice, activity, decision or situation which is either imprudent or in violation of commonly accepted business and professional ethics.

EL-0 Superintendent Succession

In order to protect the Council in the event of sudden and unexpected loss of Superintendent services, the Superintendent shall not fail to assure that at least two other Senior administrative staff members are familiar with Council and Superintendent issues and processes and capable of assuming Superintendent responsibilities on an emergency basis, should the need arise.
