The School District believes that all employees play an important role in fostering open communication within the District. This communication can be achieved through both formal and informal processes. In the area of registering specific complaints, the school district authorizes procedures which outline the regular line-staff channels of communication.

18-254- Leaves of Absence

The use of leaves of absence is one of the opportunities available to the school system to create mobility in the system, and to offer all employees the opportunity to undertake activities not covered by provisions such as educational leave. Leaves of absence may be granted for employees of the District in accordance with the outlined procedures.  Please see attachment.

The engagement of individuals at the school level needs to respect applicable provincial job specifications and any hiring/wage requirements outlined in the appropriate collective agreement or memorandum of understanding, where applicable.
