Bully Awareness Week

Bully Awareness Week is November 14 to 20, 2011.  The theme this year is "Stand Up To Bullying!"  December 17, 2011 has been designated as "Blue Day - Anti Bullying Day in New Brunswick" and is organized by Bullying Canada.  For more information, visit the following websites.

Media Awareness Week

Media Awareness Week is November 7 to 11, 2011.  The focus of the week is Digital Citizenship.  The goal is to encourage young people to reflect on their on-line lives and their responsibilities as they explore the digital world.

DEC Meeting

The November Meeting of the District 18 Education Council will be held at the District 18 Office on Thursday, November 10, 2011 beginning at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting is open to the public.

DEC Connection - November

Message from the District Education Council Chair, Jeannine St. Amand, highlights Council's efforts to communicate with parents and caregivers.  On Monday, November 7th, Council will be hosting an opportunity for the public to hear Kevin Cameron deliver an address titled "We Have a New Baby, and it's Not a Boy - What Parents Need to Know about Children and the Internet".

Information on School Closures Due To Weather Conditions

School District 18 is committed to the safe transportation of students and recognizes it may be necessary to cancel bus run(s), close school(s), or delay school opening to ensure students are not endangered by hazards brought on by poor weather or road conditions. 

DEC Hosts Guest Speaker Kevin Cameron at Public Meeting

The District 18 Education Council will be hosting a free public meeting on Monday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. for Parents/Guardians to hear Guest Speaker Kevin Cameron.  It will be held in the Tom Morrison Theatre at FHS.  The topic for the session will be We Have A New Baby and It's Not a Boy - What Parents Need to know About Children and the Internet.
