With respect to the actual, ongoing, conditions of the District’s financial health, the Superintendent shall not cause or allow the development of fiscal jeopardy, or significant departures from Council priorities established in Ends policies. |

The purpose of monitoring the Councils’ Governance Policies is to determine the degree to which the Council adheres to and fulfils its own policy commitments. Monitoring will be done as efficiently as possible, using Council time effectively so meetings can be used to create the future. |

Council committees may be formed by Council mandate in order to carry out specific tasks in support of the Council’s work. The governance structure requires effective communication between the District Education Council and the system it serves. Generally, Council issues will be addressed by the Chair and District operational issues will be addressed by the Superintendent.
